Alterra Mountain Company has announced prices for its 2026/27 Ikon Pass products will increase after October 8th, 2026. Historical trends indicate the price of the Ikon Pass may rise $110 to $1,559, and the Ikon Base Pass could increase by $100 to $1,119. While we believe these are the most likely amounts, we can see realistic scenarios where the Ikon Pass increases anywhere from $100-$130 and the Ikon Base Pass increases by $90-$110.

When the price of the Ikon Pass price increased in April of this year, it was the first time since 2021 that the spring bump was $50. That year, the October price increase was $100, which matched the pattern of increasing the price of the Ikon Pass by a total $150 over the course of the pass sales period that prevailed from from 2019-2023. In 2024 and 2025, the total increase during the sales period for Ikon Passes were $200 and $190, respectively.

The reason we think Alterra will not attempt to match the $190 total increase seen last year is it would require this upcoming price increase to be $140. That amount would be $30 more than the next highest single price jump of $110, seen only once before in April of 2024. But we do believe matching the $110 figure is a likely possibility.

Our $100 Ikon Base Pass price increase prediction is based largely on the fact that Alterra loves increasing pass prices by that amount at their deadlines. Since 2019, there has been a $100 price increase for the Ikon Base Pass at either the spring or fall deadlines in all but one year. It would also bring the total price increase over the course of the sales period to $170, splitting the difference between last year’s $190 total increase and the $150 total increase seen between 2019 and 2024.

The timing of the announcement aligns with Alterra’s typical mid-October price update. If this season follows the pattern of previous years, this will likely be the final increase before passes go off sale in early December.
