Vail Resorts’ Epic Pass and Alterra Mountain Company’s Ikon Pass products are now on sale for the 2026/27 season. The Epic Pass went on sale March 4, and the Ikon Pass sales period followed a week later on March 12.

Pricing Updates

As expected, pass products are more expensive than in prior years. But the year-over-year rates of increase are slowing, hitting post-COVID lows across all products.

  • Epic Pass: $1089. Up $38 from March 2025, a 3.6% YoY increase.
  • Epic Local Pass: $809. Up $26 from March 2025, a 3.3% YoY increase.
  • Ikon Pass: $1399. Up $70 from March 2025, a 5.7% YoY increase.
  • Ikon Base Pass: $949. Up $40 from March 2025, a 4.4% YoY increase.

Epic Pass Updates

The biggest change this year from Vail Resorts was the addition of Young Adult pricing to the Full Epic Pass and dramatically expanding the age range to include skiers and riders from 13 years old all the way up to 30 years old.

Additional updates include:

  • Skiers and snowboarders who visited on a lift ticket during the 25/26 season can save up to $175 on a 2026/27 Epic Pass.
  • The Epic Local College Pass product no longer exists.

Ikon Pass Updates

The biggest change this year from Alterra Mountain Company was the addition of a fully-refundable option to the Ikon Pass and Ikon Base Pass. For a 20% price premium, your pass is fully refundable through January 15, 2027 if it hasn’t been used. If you use a single day, you can get a 50% refund. Beyond that, no refund is offered.

Alterra also introduced a new Ikon Base Pass package deal called the Squad Pack. If a group of five 23-28 year-olds purchase five Ikon Base Passes together, they can save $199 on each pass.
