Common questions about the passes

When do pass prices increase?

Epic Pass Price Increases

Since 2022, Epic Pass has followed a consistent price increase pattern. The Epic Pass price increases four times between launch and going off sale. If this pattern continues, there will be a price increase near Memorial Day, near Labor Day, the 2nd week of October and the 3rd week of November. For a full pass, the first three increases tend to be roughly $20. The final price increase in November tends to be 2.5x-3x larger than the previous amounts, or $50-$60.

Note: The Epic Pass has a tendency of providing a 24-30 hour grace period after their announced deadlines before increasing prices. So, if you miss the published deadline, you may still have a short window to buy at the lower price.

Ikon Pass Price Increases

Since 2019, the Ikon Pass has had two price increases during the sales period; first in mid-to-late April and then in early-to-mid October. Historically, the amount of the individual price increases have not been consistent. However, you can generally expect to see the price of a full pass increase around $200 between launch and going off sale.

When do passes go on sale?

The Epic Passes and Ikon Passes will both typically go on sale in early to mid March.

Questions about Epic vs Ikon

What does "up to X days" at each resort mean?

Most season passes offer Limited Access to a number of resorts. While the number of days offered varies, the number specified is often at each resort. However, it is important to note the common exception of days between shared between a group of resorts. Those exceptions are noted by the presence of an info icon. Hover over or tap the resorts name to find that additional information.

Why won't the Indy Pass be added to the site?

This is a common question and the answer is there are no plans to add the ability to compare the Indy Pass. There are a number of reasons, but the primary ones are:

  • Epic vs Ikon is an apples to apples comparison. Each pass tier has unlimited days at some resorts and limited days at others. Adding Indy would be comparing apples to oranges and it just doesn't work.
  • Indy is only on sale to the public for 10 days until a waitlist forms.
  • Indy offers just 2 days at it's partner resorts.
  • It has over 250 resorts, which is almost double Epic & Ikon combined.

While Indy won't be added to Epic vs Ikon, we are working on something bigger and it will be there. Stay tuned.
